On 9th June 2026, the Basic Education & Literacy Committee of Rotary Club of Guwahati South (RCGS) donated a Usha Sewing Machine to Jana Sikshan Sansthan (JSS) to support skill development among neo-literates. The sewing machine will be used in a 40-day Cutting and Tailoring Training Programme, enabling beneficiaries to acquire vocational skills and improve their prospects for self-employment and economic independence. During the programme, Mr. Sabin Das, Director of JSS, expressed his appreciation for the initiative and conveyed his interest in organizing more training programmes for neo-literates in collaboration with RCGS in the future. He emphasized the importance of such partnerships in promoting literacy-linked skill development and livelihood generation. The programme was attended by RCGS President Rtn. Priyama Goswami, Rtn. Dr. Indira Bardoloi, Rtn. Minjusri Baruah, Rtn. Dr. Priyam Goswami, and Rtn. Renu Goswami. This initiative reflects RCGS's continued commitment to Basic Edu
