On 9th June 2026, the Basic Education & Literacy Committee of Rotary Club of Guwahati South (RCGS) donated a Usha Sewing Machine to Jana Sikshan Sansthan (JSS) to support skill development among neo-literates. The sewing machine will be used in a 40-day Cutting and Tailoring Training Programme, enabling beneficiaries to acquire vocational skills and improve their prospects for self-employment and economic independence. During the programme, Mr. Sabin Das, Director of JSS, expressed his appreciation for the initiative and conveyed his interest in organizing more training programmes for neo-literates in collaboration with RCGS in the future. He emphasized the importance of such partnerships in promoting literacy-linked skill development and livelihood generation. The programme was attended by RCGS President Rtn. Priyama Goswami, Rtn.
