Observed Republic Day in Navajeevan Shelter Home.
On 26 January 2026, the Rotary Club of Gauhati South observed Republic Day with a meaningful visit to the Navajeevan Shelter Home for Girls at Barihat, reaffirming its commitment to service and compassion. The shelter provides care and a nurturing environment for 12 girls aged 10 years and above, all of whom are school-going. The visit began with a warm welcome by the girls, who presented handmade badges, introduced themselves, and sang a beautiful welcome song. The club donated essential food items including egg trays, tea, sugar, biscuits, salt, chira, mustard oil, milk, and other necessities. The girls proudly showcased their handcrafted items, reflecting their creativity. The interaction continued over tea and snacks served by the girls. Rtn. Bani Kanta Das also contributed Rs1,500 /-to the shelter. Members present included President Rtn. Priyama Goswami, Secretary Rtn. Dipanwita Ghosh, along with Rotarians, Anns, and Rotarylets, making the visit truly enriching and memorable.
