On 30 th July 2025.In a significant step towards enhancing aquatic biodiversity, a total of 5.5 quintals of fingerlings—including Rohu and Catla, along with several other native varieties—were released into Deepor Beel, a prominent freshwater lake on the outskirts of Guwahati. This initiative aims to boost the population of these economically and ecologically important fish species in one of Assam’s largest and most vital wetlands.
