On 12th November 2025, the Rotary Club of Gauhati South, in collaboration with Sukhinah Bhavantu and Save Bharalu Abhiyan, conducted an Awareness Programme on “Protection and Cleanliness of the Bharalu.” The event was held at Sukhinah Bhavantu, Premalaya, Mathuranagar, Dispur, Guwahati.The programme began an insightful presentation by resource person Rtn. Dr. R. N. Mazumder. He delivered a PPT on the history of the Bharalu and Bahini rivers, describing how they once supported fishing but have now deteriorated into polluted drains. He also explained the community mobilisation efforts and ongoing initiatives under the Abhiyan to restore and save the Bharalu River.Members of Sukhinah Bhavantu and several Rotarians were present, including President Rtn. Priyama Goswami, Treasurer Rtn. Divajyoti Hazarika, Rtn. Dipak Bhagawati, Rtn. Minoti Barthakur, Rtn. Indira Bardoloi, Rtn. Manjusri Baruah, Anne Loni Bhagawati, and Rtn. Dr. R. N. Mazumder.
