On 28 December 2025, the Rotary Club of Gauhati South, in association with the Assam Cancer Care Foundation, Dharapur Anchalik Jestha Nagarik Xamaj, and Paschim Guwahati Mahavidyalaya, organised a Mega Free Cancer Detection, Cure and Awareness Camp with screening for lifestyle diseases at Paschim Guwahati Mahavidyalaya, Dharapur. The camp began at 10:00 AM and was led by senior specialist Rtn. Dr. Anil Mahanta, supported by two general physicians and two nurses from Nemcare Hospital, along with other doctors and medical staff.A total of 63 patients received medical consultation, and a dedicated breast cancer screening unit encouraged many women to undergo examination. Those needing further investigation were referred free of cost to the Assam Cancer Care Foundation.The initiative was coordinated by Rtn. Dr. Balendra Kumar Das and Rtn. Dr. Anil Mahanta, with active support from thirteen Rotarians. The programme was highly appreciated and covered in Doinik Axom on 25 December 2025.
